# Complete services and invoice items on mobile

The visit summary can update recurring service completions and invoice items before the office reviews billing.

## Service completions

Before the first submission, the summary's **Next Due Dates** card (shown when your office set services to advance on summary submission) lists the visit's services: leave a service on if you completed it and turn it off if you didn't. After the summary has been submitted, **Review service completions** appears above **Save & Submit to Office** when the summary has completions to review. It opens **Recurring Service Completions**, where you can choose a service and select the assets it covered, or tap **Complete All Due** for an asset group. This resets due dates and keeps recurring service automation accurate.

## Invoice items

The summary's **Parts, Labor, and Items** section shows actual quantities aggregated across the job's visits, with suggestions from work acknowledgment items, inspection report items, service completion mappings, and the job's planned items or inventory reservations when available. New planned parts, labor, and one-off suggestions start at quantity **0**; review and update the actual job totals before submitting. Already-recorded quantities are preserved.

Both the plan and the summary's displayed totals cover the whole job. On a multi-day job, increase the existing actual total by the additional amount used, rather than entering the planned quantity again as new usage. Only the change is recorded. With Inventory off, these entries do not change stock. With Inventory on, only tracked items consume reservations and deduct on-hand stock. Planning alone does not record actual usage. On the web, invoices created from the job also include saved planned items, with completed actual quantities taking precedence for matching items.

Invoice item edits save with the summary. You can submit while offline and reopen the summary to see your saved quantities. Let syncing finish when you reconnect so the office receives the summary and billing changes.

If your business has Job Costing on, saved pricebook items also fill the job's **Parts & Items** list automatically, including items suggested from inspection reports and work acknowledgments. Later summary edits update the used quantities there. The office can review costs without entering the same items again. This applies with Inventory on or off, including pricebook items that are not stock-tracked.

> **Where to find it:** Mobile app > Visits > visit detail > Add Summary or Edit Summary

When you correct a recorded item to zero, it is omitted from new quote and invoice charges. Its correction still prevents the original planned quantity from being added back to an invoice.

### Item photos

Pricebook items that have a photo show a small thumbnail beside the item, both on its card in **Parts, Labor, and Items** and in the **Add Item** search results. Items without a photo look the same as before. The same thumbnails appear on inspection reports, work acknowledgments, and when you add items to a quote or invoice from a visit.

* Tap a thumbnail to open the photo with the item's code and name. Tap the photo, or the expand icon in its corner, to view it full screen, then pinch or double-tap to zoom.
* In search results, tapping the thumbnail only opens the photo; it does not add the item. Tap **Add Item** in the photo view, or tap the result itself, to add it. Opening the photo of an item you've already added never changes its quantity.
* Thumbnails are saved on your device once the visit has loaded, so they still show offline. The full-size photo downloads the first time you open it while connected; offline, the thumbnail is shown instead.

Photos are added to items in Settings on the web; see [Add a photo to an item](/administration/settings/add-or-edit-a-pricebook-item.md#add-a-photo-to-an-item).

When editing an invoice, fractional quantities can be as small as 0.01. Use the item's delete action to remove it. If a new invoice needs item prices missing from the offline cache, connect and retry before creating it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://learn.withessential.com/field-operations/mobile/complete-services-and-invoice-items.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
