Look up pricing on mobile

The Pricing tab lets you find what an item costs while you are standing in front of the customer - without starting a quote, opening an inspection report, or calling the office.

Where to find it: Mobile app > More > Pricing.

Pricing on the More tab

Who sees the Pricing tab

Pricing appears only for technicians who can already create quotes or invoices - the same access that lets you see prices inside a visit. If Pricing is missing, ask the office to check your role under Settings -> Team -> Roles & Permissions.

Pricing is read-only. You can look prices up, but list prices are changed on Settings -> Items Pricebook in the web app, and a customer's negotiated prices are changed on that customer's or property's page.

Find an item

  1. Open Pricing.

  2. Type a name, item code, or words from the description into the search box.

  3. Select an item to see its full details.

The Pricing screen showing standard pricing

Search matches item codes as well as names, so a code such as SPK-HD-155 finds the item directly. Items you opened recently appear under Recent so you do not have to search for them twice.

The full pricebook is always listed below the search box, so the screen is never empty: with a customer or property selected, their custom-priced items come first under Custom pricing, and everything else follows under Standard prices. You can also browse by service when your items are attached to services.

Show a customer's prices

The bar above the search box always says whose prices you are looking at. It starts on Standard pricing - your business's list prices, with no customer applied.

  1. Select Change.

  2. Pick one of the stops listed under On your schedule today, or type to search any customer or property in your business by name or address.

  3. Select it.

Choosing whose pricing to show

Every price on the screen now reflects that customer's or property's negotiated pricing - prices set directly on the customer or property, and prices from any rate sheets attached to them. Where a price has been negotiated, the list price appears beside it with a line through it so you can see what was agreed.

The stops on your schedule are offered first as the quickest taps, but the search reaches every active customer and property in your business - a walk-in or a call-ahead is priced the same way as today's visit. To go back to list prices, select Change and then Standard pricing.

Look up a rate sheet

Select Change to see your business’s rate sheets directly below Standard pricing. Tap a sheet’s name to show its prices without choosing a customer. Sheets are listed alphabetically, and inactive sheets are labeled Inactive.

Business rate sheets below Standard pricing

The heading shows the selected sheet’s name. Items on that sheet appear together; other items keep their standard prices. Rate sheets are downloaded with the pricebook, so they are also available offline after loading once. Select Change > Standard pricing to return to list prices.

Read an item

Select any item to open its details:

  • The price, large enough to read at arm's length.

  • The list price and the discount, when a negotiated price applies.

  • A sentence explaining where the price came from - for example, whether it is a property price, a rate-sheet price (the sheet is named), or the customer price applied because the property has none of its own.

  • Whether the item is taxable, and which services it is used on.

Item details with the price and where it came from

A negotiated price of zero reads as Included rather than $0.00, because that item is covered rather than free.

A waived item reading Included

Costs and margins never appear on this screen - it is safe to turn toward a customer.

Work offline

The pricebook is stored on your device after the first time it loads, so search still works with no signal. When Pricing is showing that saved copy, an orange bar across the top says how old it is - the office may have repriced or removed an item since - and the item details repeat the warning. Select Refresh on that bar once you have signal. Customer pricing needs a connection. Whenever a customer is selected and their prices cannot be loaded, Pricing hides the prices rather than showing list prices - a customer with negotiated rates would otherwise look like a standard one. Select Try again, or Use standard pricing if you want the list prices anyway. Pull down on the Pricing screen to refresh.
