# Connecting Sage Intacct

Connect Sage Intacct when your accounting team wants Essential billing and payment activity to sync into Sage Intacct.

Sage Intacct setup may require Essential configuration. If Sage Intacct is not visible under Settings > Invoicing > Accounting, open the Essential Assistant and choose the Talk to a human tab so Essential can enable and configure the provider for your business.

## Before setup

Have a Sage Intacct administrator available. Confirm the company, entity, currency, tax setup, revenue accounts, payment accounts, and any dimensions such as departments, locations, classes, or projects.

## Connect and test

Open Settings, then go to Invoicing and Accounting. Choose Sage Intacct, then select Connect. Sign in, authorize Essential, and return to Essential to complete setup.

Choose a sync start date, map the required accounts and dimensions, then run a test sync. Ask the accounting team to confirm the test records in Sage Intacct before enabling automatic sync.

Monitor the first few syncs from Essential and Sage Intacct. If a record does not sync, review the sync error, fix the missing mapping or required field, and retry.

> **Where to find it:** Settings > Invoicing > Accounting > Sage Intacct, once enabled for your business

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://learn.withessential.com/reporting-and-integrations/accounting/connecting-sage-intacct.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
